Hello guys, In this article we are going to talk about iPhone 13 series. In this article, we will see the features, specifications of the iPhone 13, and improvements over the iPhone 12. Apple announced iPhone 13 series in the September event 2021. Like iPhone 12 there are also four models, with camera improvements, display changes, and a better processor. Apple announces few more products like iPad, iPad mini, and Apple Watch Series 7 and some software improvements.

iPhone 13 lineup features

Here we will see all four models' features combined and after this segment, we will see each model separately.

• Design and Size

iPhone 13 lineup looks identical to iPhone 12, though slightly heavier and thicker. Apple has also shrunken the size of the notch by 20% in terms of width. Each model features flat sides, an aluminum band for the standard model, and stainless steel bands for the pro model. The size of the iPhone 13 lineup is similar to iPhone 12 lineup. iPhone 13 mini- 5.4 inches, iPhone 13 & iPhone 13 pro- 6.1 inches, iPhone 13 Pro Max- 6.7 inches.

iPhone 13 mini, iPhone 13 , iPhone 13 pro, iPhone 13 pro max all features an OLED displays. However, pro model have a ProMotion display technology which provides adaptive refresh technology ranging from 10hz to 120hz based on what you are doing. Regarding this, apple also upgrades the brightness level for new iphone 13 lineup. Typical brightness of iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 mini is 800nits, and max brightness(HDR) is 1200nits. Typical brightness of iPhone 13 pro and iPhone 13 pro max is 1000nits, and max brightness(HDR) is 1200nits.

• A15 Processor

The iPhone 13 lineup is powered by Apple’s newest A15 Bionic processor,
The A15 is a processor built on the 5nm process with a 5-core GPU in pro models, a faster Neural Engine, and an advanced ISP. Apple says the new processor results from collaborative efforts to bring ideas to life, not just hit another spec goal.

• Camera and Battery

Apple improves the camera of each device of the iPhone 13 lineup. iPhone 13 and iPhone 13mini features dual 12 MP camera system and wide and an ultra-wide camera while iPhone 13 pro and iPhone 13 pro max feature triple 12MP camera-system wide, ultra-wide, and a telephoto lens. Apple also improves the battery of each iPhone 13 lineup battery will now last long as compared to iPhone 12 lineup.

Above mentioned are some features of the iPhone 13 lineup many new features are added in the iPhone 13 lineup which are not covered above, we will talk about them in the below segment and look at all four models of the iPhone 13 lineup one by one.

iPhone 13

The iPhone 13 has 6.1 inches OLED display with 2531x1170 pixel resolution at 460ppi, an aluminum frame, a glass back and dual camera setup, a wide and ultra-wide camera. iPhone 13 rear wide-angle camera is identical to iPhone 12 wide-angle camera, with its f/1.6 aperture and 12 MP sensor. The new wide lens has sensor-shift optical image stabilization.
Ultrawide camera has improved a lot it performs better in low light conditions as compared to iPhone 12, it is also capable of shooting night mode photos.
Super Retina XDR display is 28% brighter up to 800 nits for regular content, 1200 nits for HDR.
iPhone 13 has a 2.5 hrs longer battery life than iPhone 12.
iPhone 13 comes with a ceramic shield in front, glass back and aluminum design and comes with an IP68 rating (max depth of 6 meters up to 30 mins).
The weight of the iPhone 13 is 173 grams which is slightly heavier than iPhone 12.
iPhone 13 is available in 5 colors - Starlight, Midnight, Blue, Pink, Red.
There are three storage option- 128GB, 256GB, 512GB.

iPhone 13 mini

The iPhone 13 mini has 5.4 inches OLED display with 2340x1080 pixel resolution at 476ppi, an aluminum frame, glass back, and dual camera setup.
It packs the same technology as iPhone 13, the weight of the iPhone 13 mini is 140gm which is slightly heavier than iPhone 12 mini.
The biggest difference is battery life. iPhone 13 mini battery lasts 1.5 hrs more than iPhone 12 mini.
 iPhone 13 Mini comes with the same five colors as the standard iPhone 13 and has the same storage options.

iPhone 13 Pro

The iPhone 13 Pro comes with a stainless steel band and a three-camera system, and its new 120 Hz ProMotion display. iPhone 13 pro has textured matte glass back and ceramic shield front and comes with an IP68 rating.
The iPhone 13 Pro has a 12 MP wide camera, a 12 MP ultrawide camera with improved low-light performance, and an extended 12 MP telephoto camera for 3X optical zoom and Digital Zoom up to 15X. Pro model also has a LIDAR sensor for AR scanning and depth data.
iPhone 13 pro camera offers many new features like Sensor shift optical image stabilization,4k video recording at 24fps, 25fps, 30fps, or 60fps a cinematic mode for video, macro photography, and many more new features.
iPhone 13 has a new ProMotion display-  a dynamic 120 Hz refresh rate OLED display, depending on the usage the refresh rate can drop as little as 10 Hz.
It has the same processor as the standard iPhone 13 has, A15 with 5 core GPU in its pro model.
It is available in four colors - Graphite, Gold, Silver, Sierra Blue and comes with four storage variants- 128GB, 256GB, 512GB, 1TB.

iPhone 13 Pro Max 

iPhone 13 Pro Max is identical to iPhone 13 Pro. It comes with 6.7 inches OLED display that uses the same ProMotion technology for 120 Hz.

The only Noticeable difference between iPhone 13 pro and iPhone 13 pro max is its bigger size and a big battery.

A bigger size means a big battery and the longest battery life in an iPhone.  

iPhone 13 pro max comes with the same color and storage variant as iPhone 13 pro.

Conclusions

iPhone 13 lineup isn't a major upgrade compared to iPhone 12, but there are plenty of improvements. There is no change in the design department except notch which became a little short as compared to iPhone 12. Camera features, drastic battery improvements, and display improvements are good.
